Our Thanksgiving

?We had an extended Thanksgiving holiday, as many of you may have done.  Ours began with Pat’s weekly newspaper column and his four-part E-Z-B Happy program.

On 11/22, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.  Well, celebrated is a little exaggerated since we both nearly forgot it!  But we were glad to remember and wrap our happiness around us.

On the turkey day itself, Pat and I had to work.  Fortunately for us, we work at the same place.  And working on the holiday wasn’t so bad as it sounds…only 5 hours.  None of the ‘big wigs’ were there; in fact, hardly anybody was, so it was peaceful.  Pat did an excellent story about what it’s like to be working in the kitchen of a sophisticated restaurant on Thanksgiving.

That evening, he made a mushroom and chicken risotto for us for our holiday dinner, and it was scrumptious.

On Saturday, 11/25, Megan and her husband, Nate; Pat’s first wife (Karen) and our two grandchildren….Conor, 5,  and Kaci, 3,  traveled to our house for Thanksgiving dinner.  The spread was wonderful, although we had to stop Kaci from eating straight butter after she insisted on buttering her roll herself, and Conor followed his own inner voice and ate only a cheese toastie.

Later on, we gathered around a firepit on the deck and roasted marshmallows.  Hey Heid, it was 40 degrees and that’s warm here at this time of year!

So that was our holiday.  I’d love to hear what the rest of you did.  Send me your thoughts and I’ll post them here for everybody to read.
